In the pleasant and warm high valleys of Cochabamba lives Jhaylin, where two-thirds of the population belong to ethnic Quechua. She is a friendly, helpful and lively girl who spends most of the time playing tag and hide-and-seek. She is in elementary school. She likes school, especially her music lessons. She dreams of becoming a vet one day because she loves animals. She lives with her parents in a rudimentary dwelling built from brick walls and corrugated iron sheets on the roof. Her father earns a living as a farmer, while her mother takes care of the home. The family income is around US $ 258 per month. This is barely enough money for a family to sustain itself.
