Kaushi Gihansa is a joyful little girl living with her parents in the Monaragala District of Sri Lanka, a dry and beautiful region known for its farmlands, forests, and hardworking rural communities. She attends preschool and enjoys playing with her friends during her free time. Kaushi also helps her mother with small tasks at home, such as cleaning and tidying the house. Her mother is a housewife, while her father works as a seasonal farmer, earning about 600 USD per year. The family lives in a simple house owned by their relatives, with brick walls, a cement floor, and an asbestos roof. They have access to electricity, a toilet, and water from their own well. Although they live modestly, it is very challenging for them to provide enough nourishing meals and cover the costs of their child’s education and other needs. Receiving sponsorship would bring much-needed support and hope to this family, allowing them to build a stable future for Kaushi. Sponsoring Kaushi would be a kind and worthwhile step toward helping a bright child grow with confidence and opportunity.
