Nicole is a smart girl who lives with her mother, grandmother and sister in a suburban area of the Mozambican capital city, Maputo. She attends primary school and her favorite subject is Portuguese. In future, she would like to be a police officer. She is a healthy child and enjoys playing hopscotch. This family lives in a precarious house, with three rooms and lacks of the basic facilities of sanitation. The water for their daily needs is canalized. Her mother does some piece jobs for living, but she earns very little money. It is not enough to sustain the family. The familys annual income is $270, which can hardly reach their needs. They only have two meals per day. Nicole and her family sought assistance from the ChildFund based project to help improve on their standard of living. Through this project, she will receive educational supplies for regular school attendance. Her family will benefit from the training skills and home improvement programs.
