Josue is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Felipe and Vanesca, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Felipe is unemployed at this time and takes some odd jobs when available; his low income, however, is far from enough to meet basic needs. Josue is playful, communicative and intelligent. He helps his mom by putting his toys away. He likes playing soccer along with his friends. Josue attends a local public elementary school and his favorite subject is math. His wish is to be a schoolteacher when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Josue and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
