Malindu Sampath is a talented and imaginative young boy living with his parents and brother in the Monaragala District of Sri Lanka, a region known for its farming villages, sunlit fields, and peaceful rural lifestyle. He has a special interest in drawing and often spends his free time sketching whatever inspires him. At home, he supports his mother with daily chores such as cleaning and gathering firewood. Malindu attends a nearby primary school located 2 kilometers away, and each day he walks there with his friends. His father is a seasonal farmer and his mother is a housewife, but with an annual income of just $800, it is extremely difficult for the family to cover their everyday needs. Ensuring nourishing food and meeting school expenses are ongoing challenges. They currently live in a relative’s unfinished house with brick walls, a cement floor, and an asbestos sheet roof. Although they have electricity, tap water, and toilet facilities, their life remains modest and uncertain. A generous sponsor could bring meaningful change by helping Malindu grow in education, creativity, and confidence for a brighter future.
