Precious is a young playful boy who comes from Turkana County in the Northern Kenya.  He lives with his mother and two brothers.  They live in a simple, grass-thatched house with mud walls. The family gets water from a nearby shallow well fitted with hand pump which experiences periodical mechanical problem. The water is salty and not safe for drinking. The father is the main breadwinner of the family, who does masonry work to meet the family needs. The family’s annual income is less than US $ 360, which is not enough to cater for family basic needs. The mother approached the project for assistance. Precious attends school and his favorite subject is English. He likes making new friends.
