EYE OF THE CHILD HOSTS SUCCESSFUL TRAINING ON POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

On Saturday, our organization, "Eye of the child," hosted a highly engaging training session on positive discipline in Lilongwe, attended by community members, parents, and local law enforcement officials. The event aimed to equip parents with effective strategies for promoting positive behavior and addressing misconduct without resorting to punitive measures.

Child protection officer for Kanengo Police Lucy Chipokosa, praised the training saying, "As law enforcement officers, we often see the consequences of negative discipline. This training has given me valuable tools to share with the community and parents focusing on empathy, communication, and understanding. It's a game-changer for building stronger relationships and safer neighborhoods."
Chipokosa added that, parents and guardians should follow what the laws say on raising children so that they should become responsible citizens.

Our chairperson, Desiree Namachotsa emphasized the importance of positive discipline stating, "We want to create a society where children and adults alike feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to make positive choices. This training is a crucial step towards achieving that vision. By working together, we can foster a culture of mutual respect, trust, and understanding." She said.

Participant by the name Chamuwawa, shared his enthusiasm, "I've been struggling to manage my children's behaviour effectively, but this training has given me a new perspective. I'm excited to implement these positive discipline strategies and create a friendly environment for my children." He said.

The training covered topics such as gentle parenting, clear communication and active listening, conflict resolution, and non-punitive discipline techniques. Participants left with renewed enthusiasm and practical strategies to implement positive discipline in their personal and professional lives.
